Not bad. Try the rl16 in your full loads with the 300gr. You much be happily surprised. Also curious with your reduced load. If you went to a lighter bullet I’m willing to be you’ll see less recoil and better velocity which will help with expansion. 2000 fps is on the cusp of minimum expansion velocity especially at 100-150 yards. I’d use the 235 in your reduced load and see what you get. Just my .02

Ok, found some Speer data for 375 Ruger and RL16. Other than its temperature stability, one other nice thing about Big Game is how the spherical grains pack into a case with little or no compression.

The 300 grain round nose reduced, is just for whitetail deer. Don’t really need the expansion when your bullet starts out the size of an expanded .243 bullet lol

I'll definitely play around with different combinations. What really surprised me was the RL19 load. I didn't expect it to work so well.

Rl19 is a fast powder in 375 Ruger for sure. Since you’re using shorter lead bullets compared to my copper ones I suspect you can get enough rl16 in the case to realllly get it moving without too much compression. Rl16 is also pretty temp insensitive especially compared to rl19 which is a big plus for me as this rifle will be used in Africa as well as cold climates.

19 is actually too slow, thats why I was shocked. We RL17, I had 300 grain bullets going over 2700. It showed no pressure signs, but I knew it was too far. Recoil was stout.

With RL16 I'm actually limited by the amount of powder I can stuff in the case. The all copper bullets a longer than lead ones. I think a 270 or 300 grain lead bullet I'd be able to stuff even more powder into it and reach around 2850 or so.

Phillip I was reviewing some of the auctions online and saw your Nubian Ibex hunt coming up this weekend. It also showed you have Addax and Axis deer. Is there a website I can go to and see the lodge, cost of animals and what is available? Thanks Mark

I really like that knife you're selling. It looks so similar to my original 1306 that has been around a long time. I can't spend that much but if you get to a point where you'd entertain offers let me know. Thx, James
