What slings are you using on your double rifles?

I have carried my Merkel 140 on quite a few deer hunts, it has the sling mounts on it, but I haven't put a sling on it as of yet . I will for my next hunt . The double is heavy and I don't like carrying it on my shoulder . Always have a sling on my bolt rifles.

The sling loops are narrower than most of my bolt rifles I think.

Just curious what you more experienced guys are running and how you like them.

I really like the Trader Keith Rifle Strap. I like the traditional canvas look, and the two rubber strips on the inside really help to secure it to your shoulder. I don't really use slings very often, but if I know I know I am going to be walking a lot, these are the ones I find myself using.

Trader Keith’s when I used to use one occasionally. Have not used one in a decade now. I shoulder carry all the time now even in the US.

I also used a canvas sling sold by NECG, Trader Keiths, etc with both my Winchester Model 70 Safari Express and Ruger No 1.
i liked the classic look and the silicone beads on the inside of the sling to keep it from slipping.
I recommend a sling, you will appreciate it when you need it, but can take it off when you want to.
Also, remember to practice with it shooting from the sticks.

No slings on DG rifles for me. If I use them at all, it’s only on PG rifles. The last thing I want to manage are accessories hanging off a rifle while sorting out DG.

I used the trader Keith rifle strap with QD swivels on my .470. Simple and quick to take off for stowage in pocket when close to ele. My .375 bolt gun wore a Murray leather sling also with QD swivels.

We put in over 30 km on the track one day then a final successful 10 km the next in mid October heat and while reasonably fit I believe having it on my .470 helped me with fatigue, allowed me to carry with my muzzle in a very safe orientation when in a tight group, allowed me both hands free to help climb rock kopjes, and protected my gun when going through thick bush as I could easily keep the rifle fully behind my body. When tracks got fresh or on final stalk I just stuck it in my pocket and went to work.

I always find this idea interesting I have used a sling on virtually every gun I own for my whole life and never once have I had one get in the way. I am curious as to how this is happens. Everyone has their personal taste so no judgement use your gun how you want.

Bought two trader Keith cotton versions for my Heym .577 double and Express Bolt. They work very well. I couldn’t imagine carrying my 13 pound double without one.

I would say no metal. Use leather tie type to avoid any racket.

Good thing the slings were a reasonable price, cause the wood on both of the singles made up for it!!

A regular Blaser sling. This makes sense, since the double rifle is also a Blaser.

If I have to walk for a long time, I use a three-point sling. It allows you to carry the rifle in many different positions. Considering the considerable weight of the weapon, this is important.

Well, I may get some comments, however. Here goes, when I bought my 1st double rifle I did not have a whole lot of extra money. I found the cheapest canvas and leather sling I could find. A surplus SKS carbine sling. Cost at the time was, if I remember correctly, about $8.
I still have and still use it for that same rifle, an 1896 J.P.Sauer 11x60r double.
To me, it's a good package, rifle and sling. It just plain works and doesn't look terrible.
