BRNO 602 Synthetic Stock - What options do I have?

So I’ve got a BRNO 602 in .375 that I’m going going to replace the stock with Sythetic one.

McMillan says the CZ550 stock will work but it is available in flat top only so I would have to find someone to inlet it.

Are their any other quality options out there?

Bell and Carlson has an option that dropped right in for the 550. Shoots nice. It's not a McMillan, but it works well. I'm assuming what works for the CZ 550 would also work on your 602 but a quick call to B&C would confirm.

I’ve sent them an email.

the big difference is that the BRNO has the trigger assembly mounted to the floor plate/bottom metal.

The rifles are close but not exactly the same.

Years ago I bought a McMillan synthetic CZ 550 stock for my BRNO 602. The plan was to restock it for an AK trip. My gunsmith had to spend a lot of time getting it to fit, so the McMillan 550 is definitely not a ‘drop-in’ for a BRNO 602.

Just what I know.

Just FYI, Sinner Sights makes a rear "peep" unit for the 550 action. It does require D&T--ing the rear receiver bridge.

Then there's the second issue of probably needing to swap out the front-sight blade for, usually, a taller one. But that takes some experimenting at the range with your load of choice and at what distance you want the sights zeroed for.

However, once your rear peep and front sight are regulated and zeroed, it's a quick and accurate sighting system.

Ok so I heard back from Bell & Carlson...

The BRNO 602 will work with our CZ550 with modifications.
The modifications it will require:
1. Around the magazine well
2. Front action screw on the 602 comes with a spacer(collet), our stock does not. This pillar will need to be opened.
3. Possibly some bedding for calibers .375 and up
4. There might also be an issue of the action rocking
5. Action screws may be off by a hair and is fixable

So this tells me it's a half ass fit at best and by the time you buy the stock and find a competent smith to fix as the different issues you might have a stock that works.

@Pondoro, that is McMillian looks great but they sell their CZ 550 stock as "flat top only" so I would have to wait 6 months to get the stock and then find someone that can fully inlet the stock.

Anyone know a place in the USA that would be able to do the inletting of a McMillan flat top?

That's a shame..love the B&C stock on my 550 416 rigby ...my 550 500 Jeffery from the custom shop..and my ahr 404 when I still had it..

MPI stocks in Oregon (Actually I believe they've moved to Vancouver across the river now...) will do you a full custom. Takes a while....and it's not a drop in. But they can finish it rough and your local gunsmith can finish it (you could if you're handier than me) or you can send them the action and they'll do it all for you. I have two of them...both A-Square Coil Check style. Kind of thick and clunky, but they do work well to mitigate felt recoil. But they have dozens of styles.
