Hi everyone! Just wanted to let y'all know that AH will no longer be accessible through the TapaTalk App as we have been having issues for quite some time now. I contacted TapaTalk to resolve these issues but they basically told me that these problems cannot be fixed which is unfortunate. The AH platform is very mobile friendly so it should not be a problem to access the site directly through your mobile device. Thank you for your understanding. My best, Jerome

I've been using the browser on my phone for over a year and got rid of TT when they quit hosting a couple other forums that I'm on.

Dumping TT is no great loss.

How do you do that on an iPhone?
I have an android but once I bring up any website I just click the 3 dots up in the right corner and bring up the screen as shown in the attached photo and click add to home screen.
Adds a icon just like another app

How do you do that on an iPhone?

Tap the icon directly to the right of where you see the web address and the menu in the attached image will open. Scroll down to where you see “Add to Home Screen” (red smudge in the pic). Tap it. Should now be an AH icon on your Home Screen.

Russ, I should add that as you’re on an iPhone (the image I posted is on a IPad) that icon may be in the middle at the bottom of the screen. I don’t currently have an IPhone but that is where the icon was on the older IPhones I’ve had. The icon that is a square with the arrow pointing up is what you’re looking for to open the menu. Hope that helps.

@AfricaHunting.com Hi Jerome, it is specifically the Tapatalk app that will no longer be supported, or also the Africa Hunting app itself?

@VertigoBE, Yes also the Africa Hunting app itself.
That is too bad, I liked using the app. Tapatalk itself not so much.

Would it be possible to make a "Dark Mode" of the website? Especially in low light conditions, sitting in a blind and such, having a dark mode would help on the eyes.

Thanks

I tried loading the AH app years ago, but found my posts were all but unreadable. As a result, I deleted the app and started using Google to lookup the website. Been happy with the results ever since.

Sucks that TT couldn’t fix it for those that do like using the app.

That is a shame the app works far better for me then the main website

this is all I can get to come up for notifications on the main website. Where as the app has always worked for me. It could be my internet connection I only have week signal strength most of the time and only have an iPhone for internet access.

You will need a good connection to WiFi or strong tower signal for using your iPhone. That said, 2 out of 4 bars usually works pretty good for me. Although your experience may be different in Canada.

@VertigoBE, I regret to say but the platform does not have a built in dark mode.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
