Wonder if it's going to apply to military small arms ammunition used by all of NATO?

Maybe they'll come up with plastic bullets to shoot the Russians with, or Nerf guns, what fun!

It won’t apply to clay ranges , rifle ranges that apply for license .

Millitary , police or seal hunting it say also .

So, exemptions for the "In crowd".

And historic firearms also excempt

It will mean one can shoot on range for practice and the shoot test with lead ammo but outside with lead free .

Perhaps the argument of better iq in kids as they said will come with lead free air is better voting reforms and so on .

I have asked the same thing in regards to this. Lead can still be used on all rifle shooting ranges. Never been a problem with that. What some is working on is to still use a leadbullet for hunting in a historical rifle that was made before the introduction of the jacket bullet.

Has it ever been scientifically proven that it is lead from bullets and shot that is poisoning animals/people? I know lead is bad, but there are also lead particles in the air from industry, exhaust fumes etc. I’m just wondering if it has been conclusively proven that it is the lead from ammunition causing the problems?

Is it not possible to differentiate between different lead particles as to their origin?

For the past 24 years I have reloaded and shot 10’s of thousands of 38 special in Cowboy Action Shooting matches. I also shoot Rimfire Challenge matches. Call it 4000 rounds a year. I have been tested for high lead levels in my blood, never have The levels been high or even slightly elevated.

Oh I forgot that at one point I was making lead shot. Melting wheels weights down and running them through a Littleton shot maker.

Europe is taking a different angled on gun control.

At 60 I often reflect on if I have excessive lead in my system from all the bullet casting a did for a few decades when I was young.

I personally begged wheel weights from all the tire shops, melted them down and made cast bullets.

All the fluxing I did standing over that melted lead to get the impurities out I suspect was the worst of the lead exposure.

Then I shot all of those bullets out of wheel guns and suspect then exposed myself to the lead yet again to the tune of thousands of rounds per year....

The only lead contamination issue I've ever seen came from a couple I know who were extremely involved in competition handgun shooting and they would go through 1,000 9mm rounds a week for practice and had the best reloading set up I've ever seen.

Intellect doesn't always mean intelligence; because this couple were nuclear engineers who decommissioned naval vessels and certainly know about exposure and safe practices..... But for some reason they thought it would be perfectly safe to sort the thousands of rounds of 9mm brass on their kitchen table.

This went on until their annual physical when the blood tests came back with lead levels that were on the verge of being toxic.

Only case of toxic lead level I have known after 50 years of shooting/hunting is that of a Police Shooting Instructor in an old underground range with poor ventilation.

That was about 30 years ago !

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
