USA: Nilgai Hunt 2025 & Fi Kill With A Double Rifle

I was able to hunt the East Ranch near Port Mansfield, Texas and harvest a nice nilgai bull with my Merkel 160 AE .500 NE at 85 yards and couldn' be happier, can't wait to knock down more animals in Africa this July. This was my first animal with a double and it's awesome! My son was able to get a nice bull with a 30-378 Weatherby. Pics and videos attached, both bulls were rutting and came in for a closer look when we stalked in.

Congratulations on a fine nilgai! I've said this before, but hunting nilgai in South Texas is as close as it gets to an African PG hunt. Hunting with a double, even more so.

To post videos, you need to create your own YouTube channel. It's free and relatively easy. Upload the videos from your phone to the Youtube channel and then post the link here on AH.
