What works best on Ruger No1 in hard kicking calibers ? I am trying to get a good eye relief without having my face too close. Also has to be rugged.

Swarovski Z6 1-6x24 EE (extended eye relief). Discontinued but they pop up on the used market. Here is a pic on one
Mounted on my .275.

Leupolds have the best eye relief of most brands.

I have several, and have never been cut by one. VX-III 1.5-5 is on my .416 Rigby.

I had one for years in .270 with Leupold vxII 3x9
No mounting issues with that size scope using Ruger rings.
If you want a 30mm your kind of limited, personally, I wouldn’t put a picatinny on a falling block action... but I’m traditional in that sort of way.

For the performance envelope of the cartridge and platform, I’m fine with 1” tube scope.

Wonderful historical cartridge. What do you expect to hunt with it, and at what max range? Something in the Leupold VX6 product line would suit you well without killing your bank account. I just mounted a 1x6 on my 375 H&H and very pleased with clarity and eye relief.

Tope,
Please let me know how it goes with yours! It is a really nice piece of wood on it. I am preparing to take mine in August, or to take my 9.3x62. Which bullets do you plan on using?

IIRC, the No1's I have are adorned with:
7x57 - Weaver T10
416 Rem - Vari X IIc

I will be using 286 grain Norma Oryx. I have a few boxes of the American PH ammo.

My 9.3x62 wears a Trijicon 1-6x Accupoint.
My 9.3x74R currently wears a 2-7x Leupold VX-ll. However, I like the Trijicon so much, I think I’m going to replace the Leupold with a Trijicon. I can’t think of any hunting I’d do with it, that the 1-6x would handle.

Anyone has experience with USA made Ziess Diavari C 3-9×36 MC ? It's on the rifle now . I wonder how they hold up .

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!
