It’s a horse hair singer. During the winter. Horses can get some guard type hairs longer than the others if they are left out.

So it’s a horse hair singe. It’s filled with paraffin wax and there would have been a wide wick.

Curry comb with an extension for a nervous thoroughbred racehorse. Stand back so it can't kick you. Looks like someone soldered the extension onto the comb.

They do indeed spin, but you put oil in the reservoir, nor water.
