I made a fool of myself, a well-known gunsmith offered me a Browning A-Bolt Medallion with an old Swarosky 3-9×36 scope on the 243 Winchester Super Short Magnum cartridge. And I've kept it, for €400. Obviously I am going to have to reload and I would like to know what point to mount to hunt the female ibex. Thank you.

Given that the 243 WSSM is very fast, I would be looking for 100gr premium bullet. The only one that really comes to mind is the Norma Oryx which is a great bullet but is a flat base (if that is important to you). Bullet choice might be influenced by likely hunting distances.

A mono bullet like a Barnes 85gr would also be an option. If you could find a 95-100gr mono then that would be even better - the WSSM definitely has the velocity to make heavy monos work, assuming the magazine length is sufficient to accommodate such a long bullet.

Thank you very much for your answer. Whoever sold me the rifle also gave me several cartridges with 80 grain Barnes TTSX bullets but it seems light to me. With these bullets I have not had problems with the charger.

The 80 gr Barnes will do fine. No doubt that it will be fast and deadly. I have used 85 gr Sierra on North American antelope with excellent results, so the Barnes being much tougher would be great.

Than you for your answer.

Back After a Long Time – Hello Again!

Hi everyone,

I’ve been a member since 2015 but haven’t been active since 2017. Life got busy, especially with building my second business. Still, I’ve kept my passion for hunting and followed things from afar. Now that I have more time, I’m excited to reconnect, contribute, and be part of the community again.

All the best,
ANDY

I'd like a bag of 100. I could actually pick it up since I'm in North Irving, but if you prefer, shipping it is fine.
