Why You Should Always Use A Hunting Travel Agent!

Airline tickets are a large expense related to your safari and for that reason it can be well worth your while to do some checking into prices and itineraries.

In general, the internet is a great resource tool for comparing prices and booking a domestic flight, however that's not really the case when it comes to looking for the best airfare for your hunting safari in Africa, especially if you will be hunting somewhere other than South Africa. There are only a few websites in the first place that offer flights to most African countries, even fewer offering flights to some of Africa's less traveled destinations and because there is little to no competition on these routes bargains are usually hard to come by on the internet.

I always recommend hunters to use a travel agent who at the minimum specializes in international destinations and Africa in particular however the best way to go is by far to use a travel agent whose speciality is booking trips for international hunters to Africa. A travel agent with extensive experience sending hunters to Africa on a regular basis will be a valuable resource in every aspect of your trip. Most hunting travel agents get far better prices than you could ever find on your own.

Not only will they be able to inform you of the best routes possible based on airline regulations and navigate you through the pitfalls of the airline industry but their specialization comes with up to date knowledge of requirement for hunters traveling with firearms and ammunition, as well as assisting you with firearm permits and other paperwork. They should be able to verse you on the importation or transiting procedures through countries with weapons and ammunition. Another huge advantage of going with a hunting travel agent is if something goes wrong, you have someone, a real person, to help you straighten things out. An experienced hunting travel agent should have good tips for hunters who are traveling and be able to verse you on the most convenient and best places for hunters to stay and even eat while on layovers or before/after the hunt as well as small side excursions that are possible.

Be sure to carry with you the contact information of your hunting travel agent while traveling so you can reach them if needed.

I highly recommend @TRAVEL EXPRESS, hunting travel specialists, they are the company that I personally use. Jennifer Ginn can help you, she is very knowledgeable and a hunter herself. She can assist you with all aspects of your hunting travel planning. Click here to find out more about Jennifer and TRAVEL EXPRESS.

I really need to give some Props to Lori and her Staff,,,If you think saving a few bucks and going it alone you are Nuts. My association with Travel Express started over a year before I left for my Safari when they informed me that I couldn't buy tickets more than 11 months in advance. then came the trip planning I told Lori who I was hunting with and what dates. Window seats in even numbered rows only,, Lori must have thought I was a little strange
Tickets bought Afton House pick-up arranged and paid for, time to relax.
As we get closer to my travel date we start talking about what permits I'll need and Lori supplies all the downloads for my permits. Six weeks to go and I apply for my New Amsterdam Permit,Now heres where Travel Express earns their Money, 2 week to go and no Permit,,a Long distance phone call by me assures me my permit is in order and I'll recieve it shortly, one week to go still no permit another phone call Now I'm told I need to supply more info, I send it ,I wait I call and I'm told my info isn't correct I resend with correct info I'm reaching the panic mode, I'm one day from leaving and still have no Permit I call Lori and she says she'll call and see whats up ,,The next day she calls me and says " check your e-mail" The permit is there.
Even after the trip is over and I'm back home Travel express still goes the extra step when I mention that my suitcase was damaged and does my travel insurance cover it. Lori supplied me the information I'm going to need to get my case replaced,,
So if you think saving a few bucks is worth it go ahead,,,as for me I know who I'm using,, Rob

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
