i am beginning to research my next hunt and this typically takes me a few years to do unless I have hunted with the outfitter in the past. I am looking at water buffalo with a bow i have been emailing an outfitter and he states that he averaged 95-105 sci on water buffalo. I am not familiar with how the sci score buffalo but this sounds very good, almost to good. But I will be checking references. Has anyone hunted with Australia wide safaris?

I have not, but most outfitters will certainly offer buffalo in the 90-110 SCI range

Check out Jim Gibson with NZ Safaris, he guides in the Northern Territory for buff

I urge you to consider either;
# Peter Lorman of Tropical Hunting Safaris, or
# Greame Williams Big Game Australia.

If you need specific contact details for either just p.m me.

Drop Bluey a line he lives in Oz as well

If you are looking for a true adventure in one of the most remote parts of the Northern Territory, talk to Simon Kyle-Little at Australian Big Game Safaris. There's nothing fancy about this hunt and Simon will walk you into the ground but it's as real as buff hunting gets in OZ.

Bowhunting Safari Consultants work with a outfitter there that specializes in bowhunting buff.

Paul knows what he is talking about when it comes to buff in Australia. (y)

Paul, glad to see you are having some time to post these days.

I guide for Leithen Valley Australia and live in the NT. You can look up their website or on face book. Trophies start at 95 sci but you would expect to get better than that. I think the big old worn down bulls make the best trophy but they generally do not score as well. Have attached a photo of George, one of the owners of the operation with a 115 incher from this season just gone. The facebook page has plenty of photos as well

Great buff in the photo Clayton.

As a side note Graham Williams of Buffalo Hunters Australia passed away this week. Will be missed. Did a lot for Aus Hunters.

Respectfully,
it was Matt Graham, from Hunt Australia, who tragically passed away this week.
Yes, you are right Matt fought hard for shooting/hunting sports in Aus and we are diminished with his passing.

R.I.P.

Hi Joshlee0518 (please let me know if you are fine being addressed like that),

Thought I would drop you a PM. It is super exciting to plan a hunt and we are more than happy to assist you. Have you given any thought yet to which species you would like to take?

What do you hunt usually and which weapons/calibers are you using?

Look forward to swapping experiences and ideas.

Happy hunting - Daniel

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)
