I recently got a Highland Stalker with a Swaro Z8i 1-8x24 and have a few tips that might save you some time on mounting the scope.
If you decide to use Tally rings, the low rings will not allow the bolt past the magnification ring - so at minimum get the medium rings.
If you decide to get the...
I just got my HIghland Stalker and barrel is stamped stating that is regulated for a 140 grain bullet. I havent shot it yet so we shall see :/
BTW I was working on getting the scope installed today and was not able to use the Tally Quick Detach levers on the non-bolt side due to the placement...
For those who want to reproduce the ballistics of Hornady’s factory .275 Rigby 140gr Interlock SP, I came across this load data:
- 139gr Spire Points
- 47gr H-4350
- CCI #200 Primers
- Bullet seated just behind the front edge of the cannelure
- OAL 3.180”
This produces a velocity of 2,681fps.
I have a proof research 6.5cm advertised for sale on here. It is advertised as a package with a Swarovski scope but I would separate them if you are interested in that toward yours?
Here is the link to my ad...
I had an issue loading photos from my mac but seem to have found the solution - open the picture, go to file and select "export" and before you save it select "jpeg" as the format rather than "HEIC". The new picture will no longer have "jpeg" in the title. Good luck!
There appears to be a slot with the sight that was slid into the ramp - it may be slightly dovetailed but its hard to tell. This was the measurement from the bottom of the slot to the top of the bead (as best as I could measure)
The NECG website does seem to have some good options - thanks for the recommendation. As I think about it relative to the rear notch sight and secondary flip up leaf, I wonder if a larger front sight would negatively impact the accuracy, especially of the secondary flip up leaf which has a very...
Sadly, I cant seem to locate anyone in the states that can bring one in. I wonder which company built that for them? It looks really nice....and spendy!
Hi all, I have a rifle/optic combo for sale. I recently bought a Rigby HS and am selling a few things to "pay" for it. Ha!
The combo is a righthanded Proof Research Elevation Lightweight Hunter in Black Granite caliber 6.5 Creedmoor together with a Swarovski Habicht 2.5-10x42 first focal...
Have you asked Paypal for any information about their account? That may be a place to start? Then I would file a police report. If you used a credit card linked to Paypal, file a fraud request with them. I have done that before and had my charge credited due to the item not being received.
Thank you! The eye relief on the S&B scope was not quite enough so I picked up Z8i 1-8 today on a trade. I think I can get an inch or so further back on the mount with that optic (hopefully).
Agreed!
There is a great boutique gun shop in one of our local suburbs in Minnesota and the owner, Jason, I will personally work with people all around the country for their hunting rifles and shotguns.
I purchased my DR from him.
The shop is called Gentz Sporting arms in Lakeville, Minnesota.
I think the countries in the Middle East have it right with regard to punishment for thieves - cut off their hands!

I had the priviledge of picking this up today :)
A 2017 HS in .275 (I installed a S&B Klassik 3-12x42 with an illuminated mildot ffp reticle on tally steel rings).
It is a standard model HS, with some provenance in that the rifle featured in the August 2019 issue of G&A (and owned by Mike...
I find it interesting that those who “poo poo” the Rigby brand are still sufficiently interested in it to read and comment on a post about it. It is honorable to acknowledge it is beyond reach, but disingenuous to pretend it is not desirable.
The Rigby name, history of use in the field, and...
Does anyone recognize the scope Rigby used in some of their HS promotional material?
The parallax/illumination and windage caps are engraved with their logo and I cant make out any other markings.
I would suggest choosing the one that best compliments you individual style.
They are all great options, but each is unique and would best compliment a certain style.
For exampe, what luxury car do you prefer?
To me, the Rigby evokes tge charm and style of an Aston Martin, or Norton, if...
Buy the Rigby guns you want! You are just wasting money on the journey toward them otherwise. I always remind myself that “I cant afford to buy cheap things”.
Great mounts! I use them on several rifles.
Just keep in mind, that if you want to maximize your dialing distance and have a reliable 25 or 50 yard zero, you have to take your intended scopes total elevation adjustment range and divide it by 2, then subtract either 3 MIL (or 10 MOA) for...
I find I wear the polar more often (living in the Midwestern US) but I think the Black dial is more suited for trips to Africa. It seems the polar is more generally desirable, and therefore retains better value as well.
If you can trace your heritage to a certain region that makes high-end doubles, it could be nice to find something from there. For example, if you have Germanic heritage, a vintage Austrian Ferlach from Borovnik or some other similar house. The vintage engraving and finishing has always...
I glad to see I’m in good company with others that have the same ‘illness’. Im just starting the big bore collection and so far have only one .375, a Borovnik o/u from ‘61.
