Hi AH Members,
I have a question re hunting trophy shipping costs.
Some friends and I are wanting to ship Bezoar Ibex trophies from Turkiye to New Zealand, and are rather aghast at just the arifreight rates quoted. We all know about cost increases but these prices seem a bit off the scale.
What...
The future of hunting is very muuch in the hands of future governments, especially western governments. Given their track record of managing things properly and correctly doesn't give me great cause for optimism at this particular moment. But, at the same time, surprising things sometimes arise...
Great story and that rifle has tidied up very nicely.
I'm also a 243W fan. I like it so much I have two of them. One a Sako M591, retro fitted with a True Flite 23 inch barrel. It's a little laser. The other a Ruger American Rifle Predator with a crappy plastic stock and a barrel with such a...
I would like to support only airlines that ship hunting trophies and do not support anti hunting organisations. The problem is most of the known airlines now have policies of not carrying hunting trophies, so to travel anywhere overseas one really can't avoid this situation. Hate to say it but...
Also, I found it worth occasionally wiping crud out of the circular recess inside the barrel that the collet expands into. Over time with field use crud will accumulate there and smoother bolt lock up and unlocking is helped by keeping this recess fairly clean.
I'm an R93 owner / user, not R8.
Not much mention of Emirates so far but if it's they fly from a convenient airport I would recommend them. My experience with Emirates to Zimbabwe is three trips, all of which worked splendidly with no issues at all.
Although my trips started from Auckland, New Zealand, I believe the procedure...
If this is your first hunt with CMS I'm sure, like many others, you will come away thoroughly satisfied with your hunt and very impressed with how their hunts are conducted.
After three hunts with CMS you could justifiably call me a fan boy but I truly think you can't go wrong booking with CMS...
Sounds like most guys here undestand and practise good rifle safety routines. Whatever the usual standard is I think it most important that both PH and client both communicate and demonstrate firearms status on the track and / or on the truck. I generally agree the client should follow the PH's...
The attitude of seeking the older, more mature specimans, divorced from just the physical dimensions, is commendable. Over my hunting career I have come to appreciate this in knowing my own standards for what constitutes a trophy. If hunting with a guide / PH I like to have a conversation early...
That's a fair question. Been along time since any semblance of normal supplies. I know the answer is tied up in current upheaval around the world.
Down here in our part of the world a few small shipments of uncommon brands have landed largely unannounced and have been snapped up almost as soon...
Age of the Buffalo and the hunter ......... ?? Nah, can't be bothered with the debate.
But, Cape Buffalo hunting............... that never gets old (y):D
