Due to this Coronavirus and all the flights etc being a major issue I now have plenty time on my hand , fortunately my son who will be 21 this weekend has a few days leave so we went hunting . PAC hunting to be specific ..

First was a Buffalo cow which apparently was being a threat to the school children that walked to school in the vicinity as well as the cattle boys who tendered their cattle .. I was called and informed of this situation just 2 days ago and took my son with ..sometimes these things work out and many times they don’t .. in a nut shell we arrived at the scene to be greeted by a dozen or more villagers armed with spears and axes plus a handful of dogs who all had been chasing this buff cow the whole day as well as being chased in return .. It was a short stalk / walk through the brush to where we found the cow amongst some cattle . My son made a good shot and the problem was solved .. I did feel sorry for this buffalo as it was probably lost , you’ll notice in the photo that these villagers are well armed and probably poach in adjacent forestry blocks .. not much I can do with regards to that and this is typical Africa ...

The very next day I was called out to deal with problem elephant and again another 2 hour or more drive from Bulawayo in the opposite direction we found ourselves waiting by the crops.. 11pm last night 2 bulls found their way into the crops and I gave my son first shot which he did well and a few more shots by him and I we solved that problem... as much as I like doing this work I also wish I didn’t have to but if I don’t someone else will and many a time if it’s not done professionally and properly the result is a wounded animal and that’s never good.

Congratulations on the father son time out hunting.

On the Poaching front, at least you have some mug shots of the poachers. :A Photo:

Congrats and thanks for sharing!

Go Gators! Love your son's hat!

Wonderful you two got to spend time together! Congratulations on a job well done!

Glad you and your son were able to get things sorted out. Congrats on the time together.

If you don't do it, someone else will try....so well done.......sounds as if your boy is also a fine shot................FWB

Glad you were able to take your son on these two hunts. To bad you didn’t have a client in camp to help.

Wonderful times, spending times in the woods with your kids is special. Still hoping my kids and I can complete our hunt this year if not June we will be ready when we can. I heard Gin and Tonics help with keeping the virus at bay! Stay safe

Wayne..........not to hijack your thread, and again congrats on your hunt with your boy.....but do you have any comments on situation economically in Zim? They were already suffering from drought and a host of other things.....didn't need the safari industry and eco tourism to take hits.....My best to everyone there.....How's it going .......?...........FWB

What economy ?? Haha it’s zimbabwe we live day to day or year by year .. we all try to stay in operation as best as feasible possible and now with this epidemic it’s not making it any easier .. we just pray and trust that this will pass as soon as possible.. the tourism/ hunting industry like many other countries are in for a tough time this year ..

Hunting and spending quality time with your son is a good thing. Here is hoping for a speedy return to normal though.

Sounds like wonderful time with your son-glad you had the chance. ps--I am 73 can you adopt me!!!

I just thought the PAC on wild pigs I do here in TX was exciting, having to do it on elephants/buffalo is on a completely different level! Glad you got to spend some quality time with your son. Those times are something I will always cherish getting to do with my dad.

Praying this crazy pandemic stuff doesn't have too big of an effect on your business Wayne, I look forward to hunting with you one day..

Forgive me if this is the incorrect area, I signed up to this forum just now because I wanted to be on the list to purchase a copy of your autobiography. Please feel free to pass my information along to whomever is selling. Thank you so much. I look forward to it!
I like the Tillie in my picture. They are supposed to fit loose (2 fingers inside hat band), have mesh for cooling, and hold their shape after washing.
