Why Redfield gold bead sights so $$$

So why are they worth so much, I know they were used on the super grade Winchester model 70s. Do guys actually pay that much for these sights. I picked up a pre 64 m70 for a biuld and found out what it was, it makes me sad what happened to the rifle that wore this sight, some day it will be a complete rifle again. I should probably make a thread on what happened to the rifle.
