What Blaser Calibers?

.270
.300 Wby
9.3x62
Hopefully future purchases:
.22 LR
.257 Wby
..30/06
.375 H&H (rechambered to .375 Wby)
Possibly a .280 Rem, just because I love the round.
Get the .22lr! Plinking is how most of us started shooting. Going back to the little .22lr is really fun. It makes me feel like a kid, but with discretionary income, and a much nicer rifle.

Since the range is now open for the season (if it will only stop raining), this thread got me thinking about plopping down some $$$$$$$$ for another barrel. .22 LR it is!
Thanks Tra3 for helping me spend my money!

It is pretty unique with r8 that you can have same weight, fit, shoulder…but practice with 22lr.

Exactly! And the same reloading process, albeit a shorter stroke. We shot a lot of subsonic suppressed .22lr in the yard. The metal swinging target makes more noise than shooting.

The R8 with a .22lr barrel is a perfect introduction to shooting for a new person. After a few dozen rounds and the excitement of hitting a target. a person is interested (or at least receptive) to shoot something bigger. That system has helped me get new folks into hunting.

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….
