Well with the positive election results in Botswana it looks like we will be hunting elephant and buffalo there in 2020. This raises the question of ivory imports. Does anyone know, or know how to run to ground, the USFW position on ivory imports from Botswana? The last that I had heard it had the same status as Namibia and RSA, i.e. CITES imports were still being allowed. However, I need to get positive confirmation of the current status and would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Contact USFW directly or go through your importer.

It will be like all others on a case by case basis. Contact John Jackson at Conservation Force. Best of luck.

I realize how hard the bug has bit. I’m on the cusp of safari #2 and I’m looking to plan #3 with my 11 year old a year from now while looking at my work schedule for overtime and computing the math of how many shifts are needed….
