Interesting that this comes from the New York Times, usually filled with such blatant drivel and slanted anti-hunting.
This author at least makes the point that habitat loss and poaching are the main cause of elephant decline and that protection comes from anti-poaching patrols and dedicated habitat. There is no mention of hunting - in either a positive or negative light.
