Just got N.I.B. I need to put some kind of red dot/ zero mag holographic sight on this. It certainly seems “ prepared” to accept some kind (?) of mount. There is a screwed-on thin rail of a type i am not familiar with that is beveled like a pic rail but is certainly not a pic. Does anyone have any idea what to do with this? I have also texted the dealer to see if they have any thoughts. Thanks in advance folks.

Got some photos. The “top” part above the recessed and slanted dovetail cuts is 11 mm across. It just looks like a skinny, kinda shallow ungrooved pic rail with one small recess that looks like a recess for a recoil lug.

This is a Recknagle pic rail for an “11 mm dovetail mount”. Sounds to me like this MAY be the/an appropriate mount. Any thoughts?

I bought a Rizzini from George. I had JJ put on a custom piece inlaid into the rib for a Trijicon. Not cheap at $500 for just the rail

This already has a rail screwed just ahead of the receiver beteween the barrels. I certainly would not want to replace it if it is there specifically to accept a mount. I think this thing is what is called an 11 mm dovetail rail. There are a number of red dot mounts that will go on them and a bunch of pic rails that adapt/are designed to fit 11 mm dovetail rails. I would REALLY like to get a rail mount ( or red dot mount) that can accommodate that recess for a recoil lug. After all, this ain’t no air gun. It is a s/s .416 Rigby Rizinni Rhino Express.

Go to the trijicon sight and look at the rmr bases. Thet make one for the 11mm rails. Take the rmr red dot off the factory base for a pic rail and put the rmr on the new base.

Thank you so much for your reply. Although I am fairly ignorant in this area (red dots) I am sure your comments will be completely meaningful to some of my acquaintances at the gun shop and then they can educate me.

One solution would be to fit a Kahles red dot, very high quality. It comes with a Base plate adapter to fit a Dokter base - that is the standard fitting for most bases . Then you buy an 11mm dovetail mount from Rusan. Done.

No idea about the mount but you certainly need to look at the Kahles Helia red dot for your double.

if you use the rmr style you need the

Got a Trijicon on it and it is great. Also have back-up option of scope. Got a Vortex Razor HD gen III illuminated 1-10x and rings for 11 mm dovetail. However, here’s the kicker. My hunting activity, for reasons of age and health, have now been limited to my geographic region. So, I am now the only FL cracker I am aware of who hunts big FL boars about every 3 weeks with my Blaser R8 .375 H&H, Heym o/u 9.3 x 74R, Win mod 70 .458 win mag and a s/s Rizinni Rhino Express .416 Rigby. I just look at those big ugly hogs and think “ it’s just a 250 lb buff”. Tempers just as bad and bigger cutters but no horns. I guess the 45-70,.308 and all it’s smaller and/or smooth bore brothers will have to get used to ‘yotes and such.

Hi sir, I ve got. the same gun. What Mount/Base did you use in the end. Maybe you can share a picture from the base

The gun is long gone, and I don’t have any pictures. But I believe I got it from Euro-optic. It was just a long, small flat 11mm dovetail rail.

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)

Forgive me if this is the incorrect area, I signed up to this forum just now because I wanted to be on the list to purchase a copy of your autobiography. Please feel free to pass my information along to whomever is selling. Thank you so much. I look forward to it!
I like the Tillie in my picture. They are supposed to fit loose (2 fingers inside hat band), have mesh for cooling, and hold their shape after washing.
