Which manufacturer of magnum primers are recommended for .375 and larger calibers?

If I can find any!

Thanks

Depending on what powder you might get away with using a normal large rifle primer. If you can easily get them then load a couple and see. Your SD and ES numbers will tell you if you’re getting good ignition. Now if I’m using magnum primers my go to is always Federal GM215M primers.

This is what I have right now, waiting for others to become available.

So magnum primers May not be required? Are there any reloading manuals that actually provide the LR/LR magnum loading data?

Thanks again.

CCI 250 typically has the best SDs and consequently the reason why they produce the best groups in every rifle I own including non-magnum rifles they actually improve loads in some non-magnum cartridges

If the loading book you’re using calls for LR magnum primers and if all you have or can find LR primers I’d just start with the low charge and work up from there. Magnum primers could in theory give you higher velocity than standard LR primers.

Of all I've tried Federal Magnum 215 are the best. Pity they're practically non existent presently.

Federal large rifle magnum match with VV powders, CCI 250s with all others.

Federal 215 (or match)
Rem LRM
WW LRM
CCI magnum

Not a fan of using LR in a magnum (70+ grains of powder)

When you find them, buy enough. Don't let a few cents apiece stop you. When you find a deal - let us know!

Last week I found some RemLRM at the LGS for $100/1,000.

I use WLRM. I also have CCI and Federals as backup in the event I can’t find them.

CCI 250 OR Fed 215. I have never been able to come up with chrony data to support one over the other. As well as grouping.
In today’s world you are fortunate to find either.
Good luck.

Got to ask why cant we get primers , been 4 years ?
That's a fair question. Been along time since any semblance of normal supplies. I know the answer is tied up in current upheaval around the world.
Down here in our part of the world a few small shipments of uncommon brands have landed largely unannounced and have been snapped up almost as soon as they hit the shelves. All bloody expensive but they still disappear quickly. That's why shop shelves continue to have nothing.
Many shooters, the fortunate ones, hold quite good supplies while others struggle to find enough to load even a few rounds.
From info I see online it seems most of the world is in similar shape. If my reading is correct it may be a little better in the USA but basically the situation there is also one of shortage, at least compared to "normal".

I use Federal 215 for my Large capacity magnum loads, .375 H&H, .458 Win. Mag., 460 Whby Mag, even 300 Win.Mag. They have always worked very well. The last few years has been a dry hole for these primers and I was getting down pretty low. Fortunately a new Scheels opened near where I live and my daughter and husband were able to get some for me. It should be enough to get me through the rest of my "magnum" shooting career. :)

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)

Forgive me if this is the incorrect area, I signed up to this forum just now because I wanted to be on the list to purchase a copy of your autobiography. Please feel free to pass my information along to whomever is selling. Thank you so much. I look forward to it!
I like the Tillie in my picture. They are supposed to fit loose (2 fingers inside hat band), have mesh for cooling, and hold their shape after washing.
