Like New Chapuis Elan Classic 470 NE

Do you have a real target with the load it likes. That helps sell a double
That is the target that came from Chapuis with it. Federal Woodleigh Solid 500 GR is on the bottom of the target. I do not have a target I’ve shot. I have been shooting Hornady DGX with it. I have also shot a few Barnes. Can’t tell much difference in them.

That is a nice looking double. Chapuis makes a good rifle. My 9.3x74 is my favorite rifle I own. You have a very fair price, someone with get a good deal and a fine rifle.
AZDAVE, agree - I paid $14,000 for mine 18 years ago - wish I could’ve found a good used back then….would of put the savings into another Safari

I believe that to be true as well. But, not being a hand loader I am at the mercy of the factory offerings. Maybe someday I’ll change that…
You will do very well with the .450/400. I love mine. It is vastly easier to shoot.

I should have pointed out that I am in Chattanooga, TN area in case anyone wants to see this gun in person. Thanks!

The Chapuis I own and the ones I’ve seen are all “elegant” looking and in appearance match the looks of some very fine English double rifles. I found them less “clunky” than some other double rifles I tried and fired —- thats my opinion…also I couldn’t afford a Holland & Holland

In the listing I mentioned I had ammo and brass that I would include. I also started the total round count was 20. I was a little off and it's actually 29.

The specifics are as follows:

68 Rounds of 500 Grain Barnes TSX - Purchased 3 full boxes and one partial box on here from @ActionBob

16 Rounds of Hendershot's Extreme with 500 Grain Barnes TSX

Also the following Brass:

20 Hornady DGX Once Fired Cases
5 Barnes Once Fired Cases
4 Hendershot's Extreme Once Fired (I think Bertram's)

I have this same rifle but with a few different features. I developed three loads for using 500gr projectiles. North Fork SS soft, North Fork Cup Point Solid (CPS) and Swift A-Frames. Each of them produces shots with 1" spacing between them which is quite close to the spacing center to center of the barrels. A little more powder and the shots will touch, but I'm sticking with the 1" spread loads. This is at 50 yards.

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)

Forgive me if this is the incorrect area, I signed up to this forum just now because I wanted to be on the list to purchase a copy of your autobiography. Please feel free to pass my information along to whomever is selling. Thank you so much. I look forward to it!
I like the Tillie in my picture. They are supposed to fit loose (2 fingers inside hat band), have mesh for cooling, and hold their shape after washing.
