@Jeff505, is there any truth to the rumor that Alan hit that Kudu with the Landcruiser on the way back to camp?

That is so absolutely untrue. Everyone knows that sometimes older Kudu are propped up with sticks and that sometimes it looks like they have been dead a few days. All the 60”+ Kudus ( one so far) that I have found were that way.

Thanks for clearing that up….and for sharing another little-known animal fact! He’s as superb now as the first time I saw him in the skinning shed. We’ll done amigo!

:) Inside back story I’m thinking:)
Nice kudu!!

Calling @pattesonfamily !

I witnessed an over 60 kudu he took last year… should be hanging on his wall in a few weeks :)

59 1/2, 60 1/2 with Dalton & York safaris last week in the ume.
Nice kudu, congrats! That is the shape and configuration that fools those inexperienced at judging them. Some good kudu can even terminate with inward pointing tips but they still have that big first sweep. Your kudu shows exactly where the length comes from on many good bulls… the first wide sweeping curl.

The Kudu is simply a fantastic animal....after more than 8 years of looking for a 60"+ bull, I finally connected on this bull in May, 2023, with Kuche Safaris. Its my dream animal!

Harvested this bull with a Rigby Highland Stalker in 275 Rigby and a 139gr Absolute Hammer projectile from Hammer Bullets. He went 62" and 61.25".

Congratulations, free range makes it that much better.

Zane Bronkhorst was the PH for a 64”+ bull earlier this year in Zim. Pictures are floating around.

Hi Joshlee0518 (please let me know if you are fine being addressed like that),

Thought I would drop you a PM. It is super exciting to plan a hunt and we are more than happy to assist you. Have you given any thought yet to which species you would like to take?

What do you hunt usually and which weapons/calibers are you using?

Look forward to swapping experiences and ideas.

Happy hunting - Daniel

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)
