on my third trip to Africa, one of my trackers had this knife, as its a custom stuart smith African made knife I ,m not sure how he received it, lost and he found it, given to him by a hunter of at worst he stold it. I traded a good quality gerber folder for it. it has see much use and is not perfect, but I love it and when I handle it and close my eyes I see Africa again and I have a grandson who has the hunters fire and he will get it when the time comes. he also keeps eyeing the two African cheapo knives. les.

thank you for the link, I believe I paid 60-70 rand for the two and they sharpened them on a cement block by the skinners. I lent several of the skinners two of my knives and had the PH tell them if they put them to the cement block,i would kill them.les.

Nothing says African knife like Okapi. The model shown hasn't changed in the 50+ years since my first one. I believe that model has been around in its same form for over 100 years. Durable for an inexpensive knife.

Interesting knife. As so often happens it is the easy to purchase for every day use knives that see the most use by those who REALLY use a knife

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)

Forgive me if this is the incorrect area, I signed up to this forum just now because I wanted to be on the list to purchase a copy of your autobiography. Please feel free to pass my information along to whomever is selling. Thank you so much. I look forward to it!
I like the Tillie in my picture. They are supposed to fit loose (2 fingers inside hat band), have mesh for cooling, and hold their shape after washing.
