How did everyone make out at home this year? Post some pictures

Our rifle season is over here in Kentucky. I saw several 8 and 10 pointers that should be decent prospects in a year or 2. The only thing I shot was a coyote that decided to chase away some deer that I had been watching. That proved to be a fatal error on his part.

Since season has gone out, this fellow has been showing up on my cameras.

I've got a chance to get him next weekend during late muzzleloader season, but if not he should be a beast next year.

Had a great year, lots of deer every day, my dad hit one but 3 days of searching and all i could find was a bit of blood for the first 10 yards, even kept an eye out for crows
Here is this years deer, didn't weigh him, but what i can say is he was big and long.

I started of in October with this little buck for the freezer...

A family tragedy pretty much curtailed hunting in November (plus I still have parts of my last 2 elk in my freezer).

Then on the last day of November, I fulfilled a 40 year dream with this kitty from western Colorado...

I killed an ancient mule deer buck yesterday. He was about 100 years old. Didn't have much in the way of horns anymore but he's the trophy of a lifetime for me. 380 yard 1 shot kill I was pumped!

I also filled one of my Muley doe tags too

Excellent deer dobber!

Just got back to town yesterday from my yearly whitetail hunt in Kansas. My elk bow hunting this year didn't fair well at home, so this rifle whitetail kind of made up for it. Two friends of mine and I took five deer in all, two bucks and three does. Plenty of meat for the freezer.

That Buck certainly made up for a lack of Elk.
Congrats.

We've all been there. Good Luck.

Wasn't sure I was going to have anything to add to this thread as I only had one 10 pt. on my hit list this year and hadn't seen him on any trail cam photos since opening weekend. I have several young 8s and was going to give them all a pass. Our rut (Stephens County, Texas) is usually pretty well done by Thanksgiving, so this trip was supposed to be post rut and I was looking for one of the management deer I was going to remove from the herd to make some sausage. I saw one of the better 8s working a scrape the evening of Dec. 3

and decided to wait a couple of days on the management hunt and I was rewarded when this old guy came through Dec. 5 chasing a doe.

Hi Joshlee0518 (please let me know if you are fine being addressed like that),

Thought I would drop you a PM. It is super exciting to plan a hunt and we are more than happy to assist you. Have you given any thought yet to which species you would like to take?

What do you hunt usually and which weapons/calibers are you using?

Look forward to swapping experiences and ideas.

Happy hunting - Daniel
