This is very tempting, at times I wished that I had purchased the 257 Weatherby when I got my 25-06.

This is a great rifle folks the Vanguard line is very accurate.

What’s condition?

Yes, sir..... Photos do look very nice. Certainly not doubting your tenure on AH. I was more curious of age of rifle, usage, number of rounds, what rounds use, accuracy, etc.

Wow Ok no problem but I need to get down in the garage a see what I can find. When I was shooting it this summer I was more concerned with bullet setback and what effect it had on accuracy, as you may know unless you use Factory ammo Weatherby,s can be finicky eaters. PM me for serial#

I've dealt with Rob404 on a previous gun purchase, good guy and buy with confidence. Gun arrived in the exact great condition he said it was.

My Vanguard in 300 Weatherby keyholes at 100yds with Hornady ELDX.
What relevance does that have with this man's for sales ad? It is not even the same caliber.

If you have questions and you would like to try to find answers please ask in the correct forum. Otherwise this post is in poor form.

You are in poor form, sir.
maybe consider he was helping the lad out on his sale by dismissing the walmart/ cheap/ vanguard rap?
if so, very relevant.

I actually took it that he meant the rifle shot well. I seriously doubt that the bullets are keyholing. If that was his intent then I would take it that he meant a like rifle
Shoots very well. I may be totally mistaken.

If that is that is the case I will apologize whole heartily. I have never seen the term keyhole used to describe a group a rifle shot (meaning good). Only the bullet has not stabilized, unfortunately I have seen more than a few 300 Wby fouled so bad they would not group at all. Could it get to the point it could keyhole the way that I mean it? I don't know, it would not surprise me. That has nothing to do with any rifle it is chambered in only the cleaning process or lack of.

IME, Vanguards (made by Howa) are more accurate than Mark V's and are much cheaper.

I have a 7mm Remington and a .300 Winchester Magnum Vanguard (Deluxe), and they are both very accurate.

I have 2 Mark V's - one WAS a .300 Weatherby Magnum, that was never accurate. After spending way too much money on trying to make it accurate, I had a gunsmith put on a new barrel and chamber it for .257 WBY Mag. - it now may be the most accurate rifle that I own.

The other is an American-made .300 Weatherby and shoots fine.

A friend had 2 - Mark V "Accumarks" - neither were very accurate. He sold them.

Not so fast…he is talking about Weatherbys vanguard guarantee of 1 MOA regardless of caliber in a good way. I completely understand his post and not in poor form. I owned one in 270 for a number of years and found the same thing with factory ammo. When I started Africa just decided to sell mine to get something else

Hi Joshlee0518 (please let me know if you are fine being addressed like that),

Thought I would drop you a PM. It is super exciting to plan a hunt and we are more than happy to assist you. Have you given any thought yet to which species you would like to take?

What do you hunt usually and which weapons/calibers are you using?

Look forward to swapping experiences and ideas.

Happy hunting - Daniel

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)
