Good day AH Community,

We are in the privileged position where we are able to offer our clients 1 Brown Hyena hunt in South Africa once again for 2024. We only conduct 1 per year so as to ensure we have the highest chance at success for a client that wants to attempt this difficult hunt. We were able to fill our one tag in 2021 however unfortunately the Hyena was wounded and not recovered. Our 2022 hunt went off with little difficulty and we had a very happy client bag a huge hyena! In 2023 we unfortunately did not sell this hunt making your chances of success in 2024 even higher!!

Brown Hyena hunting is something we are very passionate about and we believe we have some of the better areas for them. This is due to almost zero hunting pressure on them. We have never struggled to get them on bait when doing "Bluff" baits to determine effectiveness and numbers of Hyena. Half the fun is making sure the bait site is topped up, but we will of course do a good amount of baiting prior to your arrival. Most times we will strive to have a "Hyena Restaurant" running long before your arrival. This is essentially a dumping site for any unusable bits during the safari season. It is a hard hunt due to the long hours in the blind and their somewhat erratic schedules but success is afforded to those who persevere! The hunt will take place in the Limpopo province at our Limpopo North home base.

The hyena hunt is running at similar pricing to 2023.

We received a late booking for a brown hyena hunt towards the end of 2023...it came as no surprise but we were finished the hunt on only the second sit (the first sit got rained out!).

Top class areas that are carefully looked after always deliver the results!

We still have this awesome hunt on offer - if you are going to go through the effort of hunting one of these amazing yet elusive animals make sure you go with the outfitter that is 100%! This is not a hunt you want to do twice as the long nights can be tortuous - trust us!

Kind regards,
Dempsey Bayly & Michael Sippel

The Brown Hyena we hunted at the end of the 2023 season. We got this old hyena on only the second sit. This wiley hyena had actually escaped a snare and it can be seen around its neck in this picture along with the scar it carried. Resilient animals!

Hi Joshlee0518 (please let me know if you are fine being addressed like that),

Thought I would drop you a PM. It is super exciting to plan a hunt and we are more than happy to assist you. Have you given any thought yet to which species you would like to take?

What do you hunt usually and which weapons/calibers are you using?

Look forward to swapping experiences and ideas.

Happy hunting - Daniel

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)
