I can say stock design and recoil pad matter the most. My 375 HH w/out a muzzle brake is much more pleasant to shoot than the hateful Ruger in 375 Ruger w/ a brake.

Here is the end result of a 280 rem vs a hog at 150 yards. Lucky shot and the hog still went about 7ft.

I used to use these for wild hogs, worked fine. 8mm Mauser. I did shoot one deer, it was a poor shot and good blood trail. Found her. Hope this helps.

My 280 Rem that started life as a 30'06 Rem 700. Lots of miles traveled, lots of different game down, lots of memories. South Africa it will travel in May! Osceola Turkey and Black Bear.

I will say 3.5 inch 00 buck kicks a lot worse than my 375 h&h. Although the 375 has a nice recoil pad.
