    Plains Game with iron sights?

The first photo is from a hunt with @HENRY GRIFFITHS SAFARIS back in something like 2005ish. Not a double, but an iron sight Marlin 45-70. Can't recall if I shot off sticks or not, nor the range. The second photo is also with @HENRY GRIFFITHS SAFARIS last year. My iron sight 1910 W.J. Jeffery...

No. Had near zero interest. It is my understanding that the chapter is located in Lafayette. My guess is DSC got the name and location wrong based on the one I tried to establish. That's my guess anyway.

Next week I fly to Joberg, spend the night and then on to Harare. I'm taking my W.J. Jeffery .475 No. 2 Jeffery double and my Holland & Holland 375 H&H. So I needed a light weight ammo crate so I could carry solids and softs for both. I decided on a MTM ACR4-18 Ammo Crate Utility Box that I...

Best Satellite Phone For Africa, Big 5 Targets?

Okay here is the current skinny. It doesn't so much depend of the phone as it does on the Satellite network. Iridium. This is the only Satellite network that has global coverage. Data is for all intents and purposes very slow and limited. Voice quality is poor. Iridium has the most satellites...

    What TV hunting personality?

That is so true, and I’m not talking reality TV but rather regular outdoor TV shows from long before the Internet. I was in a number of them and the star of a local one and they did what they had to to “get it in the can”.

Who taught you how to hunt, and when?

The Army taught me to shoot. I taught myself to hunt with a .54 caliber flintlock that I hand carved from a block of walnut, and the barrel I hand swamped with a big file. Did all this over one winter when I think I was about 20, and then succesfully hunted my first buck with it. I remember when...

Average Shot Range in East Cape SA

The Eastern Cape is an excellent place for a range finder. If I had to pick an average I’d...
