If it’s cool/cold I go with a knit watch cap style hat. Once it warms up I prefer a boonie style that helps shade my ears and the back of my neck. I also always use sunscreen when hunting in Africa.

Anybody looking to get into the 375 H&H game, you would be hard pressed to beat this deal. I’d be surprised if this lasted long. Good luck to the seller.

@fullhunter, My hippo hunting experience is limited but I will agree with @revturbo9967, hippo hunting is typically an up close and personal affair whether on land or in the water. I shot my hippo at 13 yards, on land, last year. Very, very exciting.

Just wanted to see if any of y’all have used or currently use a PAST recoil shoulder pad when you are shooting a big bore rifle? Pro’s and or Cons? Does it actually help with felt recoil. Any input would be welcomed and appreciated. Thank you

If you’re in the market for a leupold scope this is the way to get it. Mark is the absolute best to deal with for optics. I’ve bought more leupold scopes from him in the last couple of years than I care to admit publicly. Quite a few for sure. Deal with confidence, I know I do.

The Caprivi is an awesome area. I hunted buffalo there in 2022 and will be back in 2025 for buffalo and elephant. Lots of great operators there. Have a couple of sponsors here on the site that offer hunts there. Those would be a great place to start your search. Best of luck.

I hunted with Bayly/Sipple last year and had a tremendous hunt. I hunted with Michael’s partner, Dempsey. I didn’t get to meet Michael but heard great things from everybody there. Their whole team is top notch. Prayers offered up for Michael, his family and the entire Bayly/Sipple team.

I’ve had a lot of success with a 300 Win mag. From brown bears and moose all the way down to southern whitetails and pronghorns. 40 yards to 425 yards. Adjust ammo from 150 grain to 200 grain projectiles as situations dictate.

Just realized I messed up on the title after y’all pointed it out. Brain fart I guess. Anyway the ammo has been SPF. Apprecite the intrest.

Looks like an awesome opportunity for somebody. Hopefully somebody on here can do this hunt.

@wyosteve, If you have the space a life sized brown bear is awesome. They take up a bunch of space but when people come to my house that is always the mount that draws the most comments.

Me to. Maybe the fact that they are the “high energy” loads might be contributing to them not selling. They shoot to the same POI in my rifle at 100 yards. Haven’t tried them further. Won’t be the end of the world if they don’t sell, never can have too much ammo.
