Good evening

Came across the forum while researching my first safari.
I live in the UK and take part in all hunting/shooting/fishing sports. I worked in a hunt kennels, have been a gamekeeper and have run my own game shoots.

I'm planning my first safari for me and my son. He's only 11 so not sure if to give it another year. He shoots a 20g shotgun regular and has shot ducks with my 12g, but not done a lot of rifle shooting. Will probably give him another year or even 2, with plenty of .22 practice and a few days deer stalking in the UK as well.
Probably looking at a simple plains game hunt in SA. Tempting to book something elsewhere on a 'once in a lifetime basis' but to much to soon may not be sensible.

We will see what the future holds.

Harry

:S Welcome:

Welcome! You are in the right place to look for great hunts in Africa.

Welcome to AH Harry1!

Welcome, Harry.

To a newcomer, my advice to you is: (1) avoid the Politics forum, which is full of lefties; and, (2) watch out for the Australians, especially the one called Bob.

Welcome to AH forum sir @Harry1
its always exiting times to plan your first African Safari especially with your son, with myself having two boys I cant wait to start hunting with them.

We will be able to assist you with your safari to South Africa, with affordable pricing on plains game and one of South Africa's finest hunting destinations bordering the Kruger National Park.
I will be sending you a DM with more detail.

Regards

Welcome to AH. Be cautious around here, as there are horrible enablers who will soon have you dreaming of expensive African rifles, exotic hunts, and taxidermy that will fill your house. ;)

Hi Joshlee0518 (please let me know if you are fine being addressed like that),

Thought I would drop you a PM. It is super exciting to plan a hunt and we are more than happy to assist you. Have you given any thought yet to which species you would like to take?

What do you hunt usually and which weapons/calibers are you using?

Look forward to swapping experiences and ideas.

Happy hunting - Daniel

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)
