I love my browning gold 10…as mentioned above, theoretically a bigger bore will pattern better due to the shorter shot string. That being said, I have a 20 gauge pump that is just as effective at killing turkeys at long range with my TSS handloads, but I find myself reaching for the big 10 most...

I hope I save you some time and frustration…T&G themselves are great to deal with, I purchased a combination gun from them a few years ago. However, when I asked about a base model 40e in 12g, the “Merkel Guy” associated with T&G responded back with a price list that started at $12k. I responded...

    1955 Winchester Model 70 In 270win

Nice rifle at a fair price. I love my pre-64 m70s, I have a .220 swift standard rifle and a featherweight in .30-06. To the buyer: Boyd’s makes some halfway decent stocks for not a lot of money. I recommend buying one for hunting in inclement weather, leaving the original at home.

The folks at lab radar better start updating their resumes. Unless, they are working on something that will directly compete with Garmin. I love my Garmin, best thing since sliced bread. Just sold my prochrono, and for some reason got close to retail pricing on eBay, go figure!

I shot the same rifle at the same venue, and Matt isn’t lying, that Army/Navy was a sweet shooter. Owned by some sort of doctor I believe. Anyway, very nice rifle indeed, the only Army/Navy I’ve ever owned was a .250 rook rifle, it was a fine piece of history. Jake, I think it’s about time we...

Dan, I haven’t personally used these, but they use cutting edge solids, which have a stellar reputation. I’m sure they would work great. The 750 grain cutting edge solid is something I would eventually like to try.

I will always hand load my own ammunition, but it would be nice to have more factory options. I know Norma makes some great stuff. Maybe with the resurgence in orders for the 577 (I know at least a few guys on this forum are waiting for theirs), there will be enough demand for factories to produce.

GC, this was the first blank Chris showed when sitting in his office. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pics of it. I obviously jumped on it right after he sprayed water on it to show the grain.

Actually, mine is pretty basic. The cheapest option for engraving, and case color are really all the adders. Chris probably felt sorry for me and threw in the nice wood upgrade for free.

The 88 I shot in Texas was very similar to mine, case color and all. Honestly, I couldn’t tell much difference between the two, but again that was three years ago. I think it’s just the aesthetics of the 88 vs 89 action.

Absolutely…or similar to getting into the ring with a heavyweight boxer. When I visited Chris (Heym USA) in Dallas, I shot a few doubles, an 88 and 89 in .577 and .470, respectively. 375 H&H Reduced loads with Accurate 5744

I’ve had good luck with AA5744 in many calibers for reduced loads…but the one thing I don’t like about it is the un-burnt powder kernels left over from low pressure loads. The ones in the barrel are fine, but if they get into your chamber, you can dent brass on subsequent firings. This only...
