.500 NE Reloading - Noobie Questions

I’ve had good luck with nitro for black loads in my Heym 577, give these a try (from Graeme’s book):

    10's & 12 3.5"

I love my browning gold 10…as mentioned above, theoretically a bigger bore will pattern better due to the shorter shot string. That being said, I have a 20 gauge pump that is just as effective at killing turkeys at long range with my TSS handloads, but I find myself reaching for the big 10 most...

source for Merkel side by side 20 gauge shotgun

I hope I save you some time and frustration…T&G themselves are great to deal with, I purchased a combination gun from them a few years ago. However, when I asked about a base model 40e in 12g, the “Merkel Guy” associated with T&G responded back with a price list that started at $12k. I responded...

I guess I can’t tell any difference from other large bore rifles…but the one time I forgot to put my hearing protection in it was definitely loud!

    1955 Winchester Model 70 In 270win

Nice rifle at a fair price. I love my pre-64 m70s, I have a .220 swift standard rifle and a featherweight in .30-06. To the buyer: Boyd’s makes some halfway decent stocks for not a lot of money. I recommend buying one for hunting in inclement weather, leaving the original at home.

I recommend this…if they are already shooting apart, going with a slower load will just make them shoot further apart.

The folks at lab radar better start updating their resumes. Unless, they are working on something that will directly compete with Garmin. I love my Garmin, best thing since sliced bread. Just sold my prochrono, and for some reason got close to retail pricing on eBay, go figure!

Try cranking your speed up a bit, that should pull the groups together.

Fell in love with a working girl

I shot the same rifle at the same venue, and Matt isn’t lying, that Army/Navy was a sweet shooter. Owned by some sort of doctor I believe. Anyway, very nice rifle indeed, the only Army/Navy I’ve ever owned was a .250 rook rifle, it was a fine piece of history. Jake, I think it’s about time we...

    Woodleigh Bullets

That’s great news (importing Woodleigh). I would be a buyer in several different calibers: .270/.308/.375/.577.

Dan, I haven’t personally used these, but they use cutting edge solids, which have a stellar reputation. I’m sure they would work great. The 750 grain cutting edge solid is something I would eventually like to try.
