    Delta from Atlanta to Joberg

I also suffer from being a tall man in a world built for the "average-sized" (6'7") I have learned that for anything over 10 hours, Business Class is the only way to go. Sell some rifles, work some more overtime, get a paper route, anything to prevent the torture of Economy air travel for me...

Buffalo - Tanzania Tastes on a South African Budget

Sounds sensible to me, however, we have been to Namibia, Botswana, S.A. and Zimbabwe as tourists before, and my wife has this strange idea that she wants to see something new! I would be very happy with a Caprivi strip Buff, but I am only half of the equation.

Buffalo - Tanzania Tastes on a South African Budget

Thanks, I will most definitely be hiring the services of one of the rifle handlers if we decide on S.A. Part of my reason for asking about Tanzania was to maybe avoid the back and forth air travel to S.A. and the costs associated with it. If just going simply to Tanzania, this would eliminate...

Buffalo - Tanzania Tastes on a South African Budget

Bugger. Are those nasties endemic to all of Tanzania, all of the time, or especially in September?

Buffalo - Tanzania Tastes on a South African Budget

Thanks for the reply, HankBuck. We have been looking at a guided tour with a tour company for just that reason.

Buffalo - Tanzania Tastes on a South African Budget

Hello all, and especially to the outfitters out there. As the title states, I am looking for a Buffalo experience, and will most likely choose an outfitter from one of the many wonderful outfits located in South Africa. However, my wife and I like to travel, and the way we operate is that I go...

    Long haul seat selection

Take a look at SeatGuru.com. They have seat maps of the different airlines and the configurations they use. Type in your airline, departure date, and flight #. Then, confirm from the list at the top left of the screen that the same plane as yours has been selected (eg; A350 .vs A380) It's kind...

Who hunts with O/U double rifles, especially Bergstutzen?

I just picked up a Valmet 412s over/under with a set of .308/.308 barrels, and a 20ga/20ga barrel set as well. Not hunted it yet, but got the rifle barrels regulated quite nicely just last week.

    Valmet 412s .308 Double Rifle

The idea of the Brenneke slugs had not occurred to me. I've never tried them before. That might open up it's usefulness even more......

    Valmet 412s .308 Double Rifle

Thanks, yes those are 1" squares, at 100 meters. The Valmet has a pretty easy system for regulation. A wedge half-way down the barrels for vertical, and another at the muzzles for horizontal. I was pretty pleased to get that group out of it. The stock in rifle form fits me very well. In shotgun...

    Valmet 412s .308 Double Rifle

Some time ago I asked the Forum members if they had any knowledge of this double rifle system. The rifle in question was chambered in 9.3x74R. It was located across the country, and I just couldn't swing a deal with the owner. I've had a hankering for a double rifle for quite some time, but my...

MOZAMBIQUE: Fantastic Hunt With Legadema Hunting & Safaris

I too, am interested in this outfitter, and in Mozambique in general. Has anyone hunted with Legadema, and has dealt with Mr. Botha? Please feel free to fill me in on your experiences, either here in the Forum, or in a PM. Thanks

What is a must-have for Christmas?

Christmas at Fire Station #3 with my work family this year. The boys are in the kitchen, whipping up something undoubtedly bad for me, yet so good for the soul!! They like to take care of their Captain! We'll run a few calls, I'm sure, might even catch a house fire (seem to get one around...
