ZIMBABWE: Buffalo & Plains Game With Heath Jardine Of ZimAfrica Safaris

I recently returned from an excellent 7-day hunt with Heath Jardine. The hunt was in mid-April in Matabeland South, Zimbabwe. Conditions were a bit difficult as it had recently rained and the vegetation was still thick. Heath worked very hard to get me some good shot opportunities and I was able to take a nice buffalo, impala, zebra, and giraffe. Photos are posted in the photos/videos section of AH. My wife came along as an observer and Heath kept her involved in all aspects of the hunt, which was very important to me. On the last day, she did some hunting and shot a nice impala.

The camp and staff were top-notch, and on par with some places I've hunted in South Africa and Namibia. Also, the food at the camp was very good.

I flew into Bulawayo and decided to overnight in Johannesburg as the flight connection timing was a little too close for comfort. However, there should be enough time for someone to make the connection (if flying on SAA from JFK like I did) if they did not want to overnight in Johannesburg. I stayed at the Afton Guest House near Tambo Airport, which is a great place to stay for transiting hunters.
