Good Day
I have a Plains Zebra skin from a Zebra that I hunted myself.
I friend of mine from the USA is here visiting me and wants to buy the skin from me. Will he be able to take this home with him on the plane? Will I need to get a permit for him and if so where can I get it?

if its tanned properly
there wont be a problem , I think
they sell them in the gift shops in the international departures
so who ever gets one of them would have to take them on the plane as carry on ......... welcome to AH
hope you hang around and tell us of your zebra hunt, and don't be scared to include many photos

What species of Zebra?
What country are you in?

Great questions Jerome.
Some are Cites other are not. Countries varies also.

Burchell's Zebra or Hartmann's ?

Country of export will make a huge difference.

Some proof of how it was obtained is likely going to be required.
The authority it was hunted under.

Hi Guy's
It is a Burchell's Zebra. I can ask the taxidermy that did the tanning if he can give me some sort of paper work. Just not sure what to ask for.
I am in Johannesburg South Africa.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.

Have twice tried to post something that your site canned as "SPAM" or some problem.. "Contact the Administrator"... Not sure why even the "Contact" button would not send my comment so you only received my query but not the content in question. I'll see if I can get it to you this way... NOPE I use a VPN and perhaps that is causing me grief...
