Day one, first morning. Cut some tracks, trekked 1.6k. 200y stalk. 35y shot. Darton Prelude 75# Sirius Apollo 200, 200 gr half sleeve, 250 gr VPA 2 blade @ 830 gr.

Farted around today to get the lay of the land. Scoped out some spots for croc, waited out a couple-three hippo, none of which stood up. While driving along the Luangwe we stopped & stalked to within 40 of a puku but never was able to draw my bow- fkn wind.

Well done, congrats !

Well done and congratulations.
It’s extra special with archery tackle.

Congrats! Heck of an accomplishment with the bow.

Nice job

Nice kill with archery equipment!

Congrats and thanks for sharing!

This is a reminder of what hunting should be about, stalking! Bravo!

No small feat killing a Hippo with a bow or with a rifle on land. I'd love to hear how you got set up for a bow shot, what arrow, what point of impact you selected, etc.

Well done!

Delicious steaks to boot!

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
