I was down picking up a new shotgun at my gun store yesterday and lo and behold they had a used Win. M70 375 H&H Super Express made in New Haven sitting on the wall. Well, on a spur of the moment decision and after striking a deal with the owner it came home with me.
The more I looked at it the more pleased I was. The blueing is very good with just a little fading around the muzzle. Had a hard time spotting any flaws. Wood isn't the prettiest but has barely any scratches or scuffs.

I never thought I would need anything larger than a 30....until I joined AH.

Thanks guys, thanks a lot! :)

Thanks guys! I usually don't do spur of the moment purchases but I fell victim on this one!

Congratulations, you now own the best .375 HH for the money. And you can always sell it. Everyone knows what it is!

I just have to say that these people on this forum are the worst bunch of enablers ever.

Also it's all your fault. You chose to sign up for this recoil junky filled looney bin. I didn't own Safari caliber rifle until after I became a member here...now I have two different calibers of boomers. So chill out and do a line of Retumbo with the rest of us...

I guess we should say you’re welcome. Now a nice set of Talley QD rings/bases and a quality 1-6x or 1-8x scope and you are set until the customization bug bites. Let us know when we can help with that as well!

I prefer a line of RL15 or H1000, retumbo gives me a sore throat!
Uncle Sauce, congratulations on a fine rifle, life would be boring if everything was planned out and actually went as planned! Much more exciting to impulsively buy a rifle than to actually budget for it and prepare your wife for its arrival. When a rifle is acquired spontaneously you get so much more out of the experience, like figuring out how to sneak it into the house undetected and then working up the perfect story of how you have had this old rifle for years, even utilizing the internet to prove that they haven’t produced that rifle in New Haven for years! If it was new honey it would be made in Portugal, Jeez! Can’t believe that you would think I wouldn’t involve you in such a decision as whether we can afford a new 375! If you can jam a little Copenhagen in your eye undetected to make your eyes water a little it would be a nice touch showing how hurt you are by her accusations!
Have fun and keep your eyes open for a 416 now!

cheers,
Cody

Yes @Uncle Sauce , you will need a .416 shortly, and that is a .416 ending in Rigby!

If our influence led you to purchasing this beautiful Winchester Model 70 bolt rifle ... then clearly we did something right , Uncle Sauce ! Heartiest congratulations .
The pre 64 Winchester Model 70 , chambered in .375 Holland & Holland magnum calibre ranks as my # 1 favorite bolt rifle of ALL TIME.
By the way... is that a " Super Grade " stock ?

Enjoy.

You know there are cheap cull hunts in RSA for you to break that rifle in. ;)

Even cheaper ones in Namibia in my experience.

Thank you Major - This one is a Super Express so I don't believe it's a Super Grade. I don't know much of the background between the Super Express vs. Super Grade though. I would imagine the Super Grade had nicer wood though. I read a little last night but found a bit of confusion on the subject but I'm sure more some members here would know.

Enjoy and how about posting some articles on your 375 exploits!

I've lost count of the unregrettable purchases I've made in the past few years due to this site. My .375 impulse buy is in the top 2, congrats sir

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)
