I just got back from a wonderful vacation at Jackson Hole, WY, USA for my wife's 50th BD (don't tell her I mentioned her age ;) ) We went to South Africa for my 50th (see threads https://www.africahunting.com/threa...-goes-buck-wild-pt-2.44862/page-3#post-668831 and https://www.africahunting.com/threa...-buck-wild-2018-pt-1.44702/page-4#post-668432) but I thought this was a good trip for her. We had a wonderful time in both in the Grand Teton and Yellowstone ( USA's Kruger) natl parks. It just so happened that the day before we visited Yellowstone, a Grizzly bear drowned a bull elk in the river and had drug it up on shore to eat. The back story to the video is that several bulls had been fighting (breeding season right now) up the hill (in video you see a herd of elk on the hillside). Apparently the bull injured his left back leg from fighting and the grizz bear took full advantage !! The grizz is the apex predator for North America and I guess the equivalent of a lion. We were able to witness the grizz burying the elk and eating on it the next day.
It's amazing that the kill was caught on video- here it is for you entertainment

We also got to see a very good Shiras bull moose tending a cow, herds of bison, pronghorns, a black bear sow and cub and several bull elk although I really thought we'd see a few more. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and the great weather compared to leaving the Texas heat and humidity !! I came home to Tropical Storm Beta sitting 60 miles SW of me :(

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?
