@PaulMauser, that is a great price on a fine rifle.
IMO, these Ruger Express rifles are the finest rifles in the US by a major manufacturer.
The 30-06 Express is my favorite rifle in my very limited collection.
No I don’t have any Rigby or Jeffery rifles, but the Ruger 77 RSEX is a proper rifle.

The stock dimensions, metal work and finish is very well done.

Somebody needs to buy this rifle now. You couldn’t replace this rifle for twice the price.

Good Luck with the Sale.

Beautiful rifle !! I always thought these were CRF, but it is apparent that this one is PF. Not that it matters, I don't put much stock in the CRF/PF debate and happily hunt with Remington 700s, just surprised me. Aren't the standard 77MkII CRF ? Wonder why the M77Express isn't ? Good luck with sale !

It appears to be CRF like other M77MKII. Isn't the Mauser style extractor on the side of the bolt in the photo what grips the round as it's stripped from the internal magazine?

I'm sure someone who knows more than me will be along shortly to say for sure. But I believe that's CRF.

My 77 Express 30-06 is made this way (circa 1993). It like a controlled round push feed.
The Ruger transition from the M77 (tang safety, enclosed bolt head) to the CRF system resulted in some Ruger 77s with the enclosed bolt head and a slot cut for the standing ejector, a la Mauser. I think these were in the early 1990s.

These are referred by Ruger collectors as transition models. I read up on these on a forum for Ruger owners and it validated the build of my rifle.
I had a magazine article from the mid 1990s that explained this, I just can't find it now.
When I received my Ruger 77 Express 30-06 and observed this, I remembered the article.
Ruger, to my knowledge, did not call this out, just changed over the above bolts to the undercut on the bolt so that the cartridge rim slid up under the extractor before the round is chambered.

Later Ruger 77 Express rifles were true CRF. I had a M77 Express .338 Win Mag made as a true CRF like the M77 MK II.

Nevertheless, my 30-06 Express, with the enclosed bolt head feeds well from any normal shooting position.

Bump for the OP.

Somebody needs to buy this soon!

To clear the air regarding this rifle, it is a true CRF and not the push feed or transition variety. It has the claw extractor and blade ejector and corresponding cut in the bolt for the ejector

My first rifle was a Ruger M77 in 30-06 and I still use it sometimes today. It has been a very good reliable rifle. Yours is much more attractive than mine. GLWS.

A proper rifle action,
Ido not wish to cast a shadow on your gun.
They just work.
A truly excellent rifle for the price.
GLWS.

No worries at all and I definitely didn't think that. I didn't even realize there were some of these that were transitional, so I figured I better clarify for others that may be looking at it and also didn't know

No offense, but your pic does not show a CRF bolt. Yes it has a Mauser style extractor, and yes it has a slot for ejector, but there is no way it is a CRF with the lower rim below bolt face. It is apparently a transition model as described above. The extractor snaps over rim after chambering, no way rim can slide up bolt face and under extractor as it is stripped from magazine. The original 77s were this way as well, long non rotating Mauser style extractor, but push feed. My interest in this is academic, I would trust it all the same if proven reliable.

I stand corrected, you are right. I actually put a round in it and cycled and yes it pushes it and locks over it once the bolt is closed. I have never noticed that before being as this is an unfired safe queen. All my others are early tang safety's definitely push feed and the other MKII's I have all have the bolts with no lip at the bottom allowing the cartridge head to slide up under the extractor when the bolt is pulled back, Learn something new everyday

Good catch. I didn't notice the lower rim on the bolt either. And I agree with you, I have used push feeds for predators in sketchy situations and never felt concerned about it not being a CRF.

I believe a qualified gunsmith can chop that off to make a true CRF out of it.
I owned one of these that had that same issue so I sent it to Ruger and they fixed it up in two weeks! I took it to Africa in the same caliber, it was a good shooter with 200 gr Norma Oryx’s and 220 Woodleigh FMJ’s.

Do you think they still do that service?

Absolutely! It is in factory condition and not tampered with. They produced it that way by accident, so they will be fine with fixing it for free.
