Evening fellas , just getting an idea of decent hotels to use in Windhoek before the hunt , and for a few days afterwards before flying out.

Cheers

On our last trip through Windhoek we stayed at the Kalahari Sands which I see is now AVANI Windhoek Hotel & Casino. It served our needs just fine and they had a driver pick us up right at the airport. Don't forget to Check out Joe's for dinner in Windhoek!

As @375 Ruger Fan mentioned, there are plenty of options in Windhoek. The reviews on tripadvisor led my wife and I to Ti Melen Guesthouse and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The nightly cost is very cheap and the rooms are enormous and pushing 5 star. When we return to Namibia we will stay there without question!

Also, if you are going to be around for a few days after the hunt you may wish to rent a car and head to the coast for a day. It makes for a soothing ending to a hunt!

Good thread and much appreciated information folks!

When it comes to staying overnight in Windhoek there are lots of options... I can recommend a high quality hotel right in the center of downtown, either the Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino (the old Kalahari Sands Hotel) or the Hilton Windhoek Hotel, or the cozy Londiningi Guest House a popular bed and breakfast about 3 blocks from the center of downtown or the comfortable Afrika Sun Bed & Breakfast a couple of kilometers from the center of town.

Afrika Sun Bed & Breakfast
A nice, clean and comfortable bed and breakfast owned by a very friendly Namibian named Eghard who welcomes you on his property. Located 5 minutes from the center of downtown by car, you will need a taxi to go to center of town. They have a swimming pool, nice outdoor area and a great breakfast in the morning. Prices are very reasonable.

Londiningi Guest House
A nice bed and breakfast owned by a French lady named Nathalie, she is very nice and really makes you feel at home. Located a few blocks from the center of downtown, you will need a taxi to go to the center of town, a 5 minute drive. Sometimes Nathalie or one of her staff can drive you to town. They have a swimming pool, nice outdoor area and a great breakfast in the morning. Prices are very reasonable.

Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino (the old Kalahari Sands Hotel)
A well located hotel in the center of town, making it ideal for walking around the city, shopping, restaurants… There is no need for a taxi. The Avani in Windhoek has a casino, restaurant and bar. Prices are more on par with international hotel rates.

Hilton Windhoek Hotel
Set in the heart of Namibia’s capital city, Windhoek, the contemporary Hilton Windhoek Hotel is conveniently close to a variety of historical and tourist attractions. All of the modern Guest Rooms and Suites at this hotel are decorated in a warm, contemporary African style.

Last year we stayed in the Windhoek Hilton. Excellent accommodations, good resturant. Also a lot to do (shopping/dinning) within walking distance.

all / most of the accommodation (hotels, b&b's, slef catering, camping) in Windhoek and klein Windhoek are up to date
