Here is a recently purchased Winchester Model 70 Super Grade in .308 Win with a well proven Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 off my main light rifle.

Ran twenty rounds through it yesterday dialing in the scope followed by a thorough cleaning, then put five fouling shots through it. Here is the cold bore shot from today with Barnes 130 TTSX factory ammo. The magazine spring seems a bit weak, but it feeds fine. No other issues. It was very quick and easy to dial in.

I am hard pressed to do better with any of my custom rifles with handloads.

I received a 1949 Model 70 in .270 from a relative when I was a boy. It was my only rifle for many, many years. This new Model 70 is a very nice rifle and the accuracy leaves my old one in the rear view mirror.

That's a fine looking rifle, don't think there's much more a man could ask for!

Agreed.

After reading reports here about the current Model 70’s having issues, I was pleasantly surprised, almost shocked really, at the performance of this rifle and thought it worth sharing.

Those NXS scopes are some of the best ever made. Very underrated these days with people touting glass clarity over reliability and durability. Even though the glass on those is still really good, just not as good as some of the paper thin tube scopes other companies make nowadays.

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
