This documentary is a great illustration on why it takes money, time and patience to get things done in Africa. If you are going to Africa for any reason, slow down.

Enjoy!

The American mentality (that fewer and fewer of us even seem to have) of getting it done ASAP doesn't seem to exhist there (IME).

It took 18 months to get a cape buffalo skull & cape back from Mozambique (and cost over $4,000)!

If it wasn't for the safari company's concierges (who are worth their weight in gold) and know who's palms to grease and how much to grease them and who to stand firm against, I think a first-timer would hardly ever go back, despite the best hunting in the world.

And if you are easily made mad, and start giving them a hard time, then you are really screwed.

I agree, people need to remember that they are not in their home country anymore and that if you try to push them they are going to be like the old donkey and just sit down on it's rear and look at you.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
