Which South African animals to target

Prone shots are not common in much of Africa but they are used a lot with Vaal rhebok and higher elevations. Keep practicing from the sticks!

I'm going to the Eastern Cap, and maybe a little bit in the Kwazulu-Natal next november to hunt new species, and mainly those we don't find in Namibia, or with very limited quota, no mention to nyalas imported and living in very small enclose because or the rarety and their very high price.

My main purposes in South Africa will be the cap bushbuck, the nyala, the common reedbuck, the mountain reedbuck, the vaal rhebuck and the bushpig if the opportunity arise. I think they represent well the wildlife we can find in these areas.

But for a first time in Africa, I think a kudu and a warthog should be a priority to bag.

The North American Eastern Grey Squirrel!!!
It does not belong there, some idgit thought it was a great idea to introduce tree rats to the Cape Town area.

"The eastern grey squirrel was introduced into South Africa in the late 1890sby Cecil John Rhodes. He released squirrels on his Groote Schuur estate in Cape Town around the turn of the 19th century. While their range initially spread to Swellendam by the 1970s, their distribution is now mainly limited to the South West Cape, often associated with oak and pine trees"
Now I have to work on my wife for another trip. I love squirrel hunting, and eating! I think that I will have to put off this one until '28. I am heading to SA in 26 and my wife is working on our Ireland getaway for 27.

You might have edited your post on the PH in the Bubye. I know the PH and is a wonderful person and a fmaily man and runs a succesful business in Zim and just doesn't want the attention that the internet offers, the ugly kind.

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
