When talking only new production, who makes the most affordable rifles in the following calibers today?

375's - Whether it's H&H or Ruger. I was assuming the most affordable choice here would be the Ruger M77 Hawkeyes (Guide Gun/African/Alaskan) at $1,659 but it looks like the Winchester Model 70 Alaskan in 375H&H is slightly cheaper at $1,629. Any other cheaper options?

416's - Whether it be RemMag, Ruger or Rigby. I'm highly doubting that there is any such thing as an affordable 416 Rigby rifle remaining today since CZ and Sako dropped their magnum offerings. Again it comes down the the Ruger M77 Hawkeye in 416 Ruger (Guide Gun/African) at $1,659 and the Model 70 Safari Express in 416 RemMag at $1,759. Are there any other affordable alternatives here? What would be the cheapest Rigby rifle on the market today?

458's - WinMag, Lott, Rigby etc., not including the 45-70. I'm again going to assume that the Winchester Model 70 Safari Express in 458 WinMag is the most affordable option ($1,759) unless the Zastava's are still in production. Any others?

Winchester chambers all three (375 HH, 416 REM and 458 WM) in the time-proven Model 70 at a great price. You won’t go wrong with the Rifleman’s Rifle.

Now that I think of it, the Model 70 is the only rifle that comes to mind that chambers it in all 3 caliber classes, not aware of any other rifle that will do that other than the more bespoke offerings.

I'm not familiar with their pricing and availability in the US but the Zastavas in 375hh and 458 win mag should be pretty competitive on price.

Well I must have been hallucinating today, as the gunshop I use here had a bunch of zastava rifles just delivered....and looking at the ends of at least 4 or 5 of the cardboard cases it said 375 H&H on them....

The USA website does not list a .375 Holland & Holland Magnum chambering. But the European website does.

I don't know if they still make them but I think Howa and Mossberg both made .375 Ruger rifles. Maybe not new but fairly recent production.

Strange...would have thought they would sell more 375 than 458......when go back in morning going to have a look at one of the 375 to see how they look....they had one .22 hornet in the shipment..mini mauser action...Iron sights.....mmm.......perfect length...came up bang on......mmmm.....really like the 22 hornet... .....

My understanding is that Sako plans to release magnum chamberings in the Sako 90 at some point.

Beyond Manufacturers List Price. The price you pay depends so much on what kind of discount you can wrangle with a dealer. When I was buying Winchester M70's in 375 and 416 and a couple Ruger M77's in 375 Ruger, the Rugers were significantly more discounted.

Having said that if you want a cheap light weight gun that is threaded but still has a somewhat classic look, go with a Ruger African. If you want weather proof and shorter barrel, still threaded and a heavy laminated stock, go with a Ruger Guide Gun.

If you want a classic looking blued gun with walnut stock and non threaded barrel a d just a great rifle to take to Africa... Go with a Winchester M70. Pull the barreled action out of the stock and back the trigger adjustment screw out and probably just throw it away so you end up with about a 3 pound trigger.

The M70 will be smoother. Hard to go wrong with a M70 in 416 Rem Mag.

Mossberg makes a .375 ruger that is dirt cheap, but at least the one I own is a piece of shit. The Ruger's are nice guns I own an handful of those as well. I believe that savage also makes a .375 ruger, but I don't have an experience with that one

I remember the Sako reps stating that at the 90 launch. Eagerly waiting for some Sakos with Magnum actions.

A Mini-Mauser in 22 Hornet? You'd be wise to snap that up quick. I know a lot of old timers that would be on that like a Hobo on a Hotdog!

Good to know. I’m currently buying my first 375 and ammo availability is important since I don’t reload.

Leaning towards 375 H&H at this point, and will likely go that way, but like the (mostly theoretical) advantages of the Ruger cartridges.

I two am not a avid reloader and am finding my 375R a headache, factory loads are only offered in substandard loads, and supply to reload expensive but entirely necessary , the components ( swift Aframe + brass = $100 alone)
