I have no idea what taxidermist use for like elephant, rhino, and polar bear Mounts? Do they use different animal skins and just dye it differently? Or is it not even skin and just use something else internally(and if yes what is it)?

If any taxidermists read this and knows I would very much like to know.

Good Day Sir,

For species like Hippo, Rhino and Elephant replicas they are manufactured using a light weight fibre glass.

For replicas of Polar bear and Lions a synthetic fibre is used to create the replicas.

No real skin is used in any part of the replica.

However most commercial taxidermists offer real skin mounts for all of the above animals.

Depending on legality of import permits it will depend on what options you have available for the mount of your choice.

thank you for answering my question. I’ve been really curious for a long time now

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
