I am looking for a 470 Nitro Express Sabatti double rifle, with ejectors. I am hoping there is a used well taken care of model which someone may have available to part with. Please direct message me if you have one available.

ive got rifle ammo brass regulated load info too send me pm

I believe the Sabattis to be a great gun, especially for the money.

If I was buying one I would have it examined. by Ken Owens before making a purchase.

JJ Perodeau is another great option. I send all my DRs to him and he never disappoints

I have never picked one up so I have zero experience with Sabatti. I did have the opportunity to handle both Merkel and Chapuis at SCI and I really liked the feel of the Merkel. Obviously a little more $ than a Sabatti but one to consider as well.

I have had 5 from a low of Sabatti to a high of Westley Richards. Of all of them I prefer my Merkle 140 470 NE DR due to short 24 inch barrel and balance between my hands along with proper 10.8 pound weight with my perfect LOP

You definitely have experience with a few doubles!
I too found the Merkel to be a better feel than the Chapuis and Heym 88.

If I found a Merkel 470 for a reasonable price, I would probably have to buy it.

For perspective I got a deal from Ralf Martini at $8500 for my Merkle given the great exchange rate from Canada to US dollar in my experience look for these for people forget the currency exchange rate that just may give you a steal!!!

That’s a great deal! Did you sell that rifle before you bought the WR?

Other way around I only sold my awesome WR due to its having a 28 inch barrel which I found is just too long for me. I hated to do it given it is an incredible DR but I knew I need a shorter barrel and heavy gun. I bought my Merkle after selling my WR. The thing I swear by was Ralph offering the Merkle at $11,500 CD and people mistakenly thought that was US

I can completely understand why you sold it then. I like short, handy rifles as well.

I have seen numerous Merkel rifles for 10-11.5k so 8.5k is a great deal. I’m jealous! CAustin has a Merkel and loves it.

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx
