I have a military mauser 98 barreled action in .458 WM in need of a wood stock. I am not looking for anything fancy but would prefer it to be in nice shape, no cracks, and bonus points for checkering, crossbolts and a decent recoil pad.

If you have anything you think might work let me know. I do have a synthetic for this rifle so not in "desperate" need but would like to find something suitable.

Richards Microfits has nice stocks. I just got two sporterized mausers from an estate in which the old gent passed on. They were supposedly richards microfit stocks. Fairly good looking stocks. I think they are the safari classic pattern.

Look on ebay and old gunshops. You want a bishop stock from the 1960s-1970s. They are fairly decent and sell for $45-$200.

Looks like this rifle is going to be stocked in a very nice McMillan. Was thinking wood but for what I paid installed I can’t pass that up on a project gun.

Thanks

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.
