I am looking for a CZ 550 (American Safari with the straight comb) chambered in 416 Rigby, ideally with the "Fancy Walnut Stock". As of the 2020 CZ Catalog, the product number on that gun was 04312.

Isn’t that $3500 a little on the high side?
It depends on the market, with the amount of big bores that @krish has studied. I would take his word for knowing that market. Unfired will not mean the same to you as it would a collector. Just a different perspective.

Definitely not for one with the factory fancy American stock.
An "as new" or 95% plain American stock CZ 550 in 416 or 458 will fetch $2500. The bigger bores will cost even more. A 550 in 375 H&H will cost a little less.

Supply and demand. Until their is an new offering in a comparable magnum-length, controlled round feed action, the price of the available CZ 550 African guns will only increase.

Yes and Np
Two of Ruger RSM went fot around 3700 in the last two weeks on GB. That is before Taxes and shipping. There were over 30 bids on each. One went much lower with penny start. I am looking at average of sale prices over 12 to 18 months. Again I am also looking at what today's dollar is worth comparing to some time ago. Also looking at comodity prices and Real estate prices, and interst rates, cost of living. Also projected cost of replacement. Also looking at availability in the future.
I bougjt two Model 71 NIB made in 1956. They have a hang tag for $130.00
I paid $6000.00 and 9k+ at different times. Because for collector value.
You can buy one of those preowned depending on condition for 1800 to 4k
So the answer is a big YES/NO.

That is exactly I suggested to the OP by the pm I sent to him.

My guess is that the rifle will go for at least $2500.

Hi Jon,
I saw your post for the .500 NE cases. Are these all brass or are they nickel plated? Hard for me to tell... sorry.
Thanks,
