Looking to get a few African hunting books. I'll be going on Safari in May and would love to have them for the long flight. Every time I see them listed here I have been too late. So hoping someone can help me out.

It all depends on what you're looking for.

Nice collectible books are found at https://www.worldwidehuntingbooks.com/

Used or inexpensive copies of African hunting books are found at...

Kindle even has some free copies of African hunting books or inexpensive versions.

Amazon has quite a few as well.

If you like older/historical books, DM me a good mailing address and I’ll send a book or two your way.

Where are you headed?

I have found a number of African hunting books in thrift shops

I have a paperback of Green Hills of Africa you can have if you pay postage. If I can find it in a timely fashion.

Search the titles you’d like on Amazon and look at used and other sellers. I’ve bought a lot of hunting books at $3.99 from Salvation Army and goodwill that way.

Wow ... talk about great responses. This forum is the best!
I'm heading to South Africa.
I think I'm going to go the kindle/Fire tablet route to save on space and make it easier to read on the plane. I will also check out the thrift stores and see what I find.

Safari Press was sold and isn't operating like before.

I am looking for Along the Hunters path by Kai Uwe Denker. If anyone has a copy or a lead on please PM me.
thanks
Aaron

Denker’s books are good enough I’m always tempted to buy extra copies

AHHHHH
Thank you!!! really appreciate it . I'm prepping for my first Ele hunt in june 2025

Denkers other book is even better I think. He wrote another one that’s only in German. Wish I could find it in English

I just got a copy of that today. I have his other book as well. He's an interesting PH for sure. I think he could walk just about anyone into the ground on his hunts.

I've been selling some African hunting books lately. I have 12 books written by various authors and edited by Peter Capstick. $25 shipped per book if you only want a single book. $20 per book shipped if you buy two or more. If you're interested and want pictures send me a private message with your cell phone # and I'll text you pictures.

There is an online bookshop in South Africa called Halseton. I’ve just ordered 3 books from them and am having them couriered to my hosts in the Eastern Cape. He advised me Not to have them posted !
Otherwise I would advise buying Ron Thomson’s book on Kindle. Far easier having your books on a tablet than hoiking a few books around. There’s probably more good books on Kindle but Ron’s books make great reading.

Kindle is tops for price and convenience. Only drawback, for me, is quick reference if you want to look up an item. But you can carry xx number of books in one reasonable pkg.
Only books I was unable to find at the time were by John “Pondoro”Taylor and they are referenced many times by many.
Good luck and Good Hunt.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris
