Wanted 6,5x68 (6,5 Schueler)

Please help me fill my cartridge holder. This stuff is next to impossible to find in the US.

ive been looking at having one built for a while now myself but lack of supply hindering that. ill go back thru my researching and message you but i found brass somewhat recently. Only issue was it $130 plus shipping for 20 pieces of brass

I appreciate that. I don’t handload, so the brass alone would be my less preferred route. RWS and another German company still make the cartridges, but they do not export these rounds to the US. NECG doesn’t seem interested in working with them either for this ammunition.

Buy the dies and some 8x68 brass and there are probably a gazillion reloaders near you in Houston that will help you load up 1000 rounds..............FWB

I appreciate the info FWB. As a nonhandloader, I’m worried about excessive brass thickness around the case mouth. Maybe it’s just my ignorance showing. I assume the case would need to be annealed before resizing. Does the brass “flow” evenly away from the mouth into the sidewalls?

@AlanBigStick Case forming is not without it's problems......but 8x68 and the 6.5 Shuler are so similar,... even having the same case head rebate, that it is easy. Ya, I always neck ream if I'm going down more than 1mm. Mouth pinch can raise pressures. But here you need very little equip. Shell holder collette and guide for a case trimmer, 6.5 reamer, dies and you're set. Lube the case well, run thru the 6.5 die, trim case to desired length, ream neck. Clean the brass, and reload. Work the load up a bit (lots of data on the net) and have fun shooting.........I have long been a fan of the 8X68, but the 6.5 Shuler is too close to the 264 Win Mag to have caught my interest. But, hey....the real reason anyone needs a new cartridge is because.....just because they want it. .............FWB
